Phantom Blade Zero Bosses

How Many Bosses Are in Phantom Blade Zero?

In a 4Gamer interview reported by GamingBolt on October 11, 2026, director Soulframe said the game has at least 50 bosses and hinted the real number could be higher.

He also said all 30 main weapons and roughly 20 secondary weapons are obtained from bosses, so clearing a boss usually expands your arsenal. The Steam store page frames it the same way: Phantom Edges are "wrested from the hands of fallen foes".

Bosses Revealed So Far (Confirmed So Far)

These names were compiled by AFK Times from pre-release footage and previews. They are not an official roster from S-GAME, names can differ in the launched game, and the last boss has not been revealed.

Bosses Named in the PS5 Trophy List

The PS5 trophy list, as shown by Exophase and TrueTrophies, has 17 trophies for defeating named opponents, covering 26 opponents in total. It is the most complete boss list published so far, but it is not the full roster: the director's count of at least 50 bosses is higher, and the trophy list skips encounters without a trophy.

Spoiler note: several of these names come from late chapters. The full trophy list is on the Trophies page.

How Boss Encounters Work

IGN's review (October 26, 2026) reports that bosses do not make you replay phases you have already cleared, that some attacks can kill in a single hit, and that one encounter pits you against a posse of warriors who move as a single unit.

Your resource during an encounter is Sha-Chi: swapping between your two equipped weapons refills it, while parries and sustained pressure drain the enemy's own Sha-Chi and open a window for a decisive blow, according to Inven's six-hour preview.

Previews of the near-final build add that higher difficulties change attack patterns instead of only inflating numbers, and the director told 4Gamer that defeated regular enemies stay dead rather than respawning.

Difficulty Modes and Bosses

The PlayStation Blog lists Wayfarer, Hellwalker (with more adaptive enemy AI) and Sixty-Six Days; launch reviews also name Pathbreaker. Review coverage compiled by Output Lag says the main difficulties can be switched at any time and that dying carries no penalty.

66 Days is a post-game challenge that caps you at 66 deaths, and the director told TheGamer it runs on the hard-difficulty base.

Not Confirmed Yet

The full roster, the order of bosses per chapter, health values and exact drops per boss are not confirmed by an official source yet. They are added here only once they can be verified in the launched game.
